Well within a couple weeks it looks like Aion will launch ? Who wants to give it a try ? I am messing around with it and it looks cool. Although I am not sure that I like the fact that I can't move with my mouse, but getting used to it ?

Lets all pick a server and a race and guild it up and see what happens.

it is pretty fun so far. the end game will be the decider for how long it lasts, of course i havent experienced it yet. i do like how there is some pvp focus though.

you can move with your mouse, you just need to change some setting. i have it set almost exactly like it was in wow.

back to the main point...i was talking to Ahmad about this...let's make Zikel our server, hopefully they stay the same names. I will be an assassin of course. Also we are all Asmodian in the open beta right now.

Zikel should stay the same it was unoffically announced as a server that will stay by one of the devs on one of the sites I frequent. I could just send him an email and see if that still holds true. Anyway, I'm totally down for guildin' it up on zikel. Will be fun to play with family again in a whole new setting. Like wayne said we are all asmo right now. I'm a templar and will be when game launches.

As a side note, if you preordered your game from gamestop you should be able to pick it up on the 21st instead of the 22. It's street dated, which bascially means we can sell it on the day it's dated from instead of the "actual release day" I'm not sure if anyone/stores a doing a midnight release for it, but I imagine in some places it will be that big. So many people have come forth and shown interest in this game in the last few weeks.

Also in talking to one of the devs if you play during head-start and you preordered a collectors edition you might not see the items in your bag will "actual launch day" which is suppose to be the 22. So if you log in during the 20th and don't see anything special they should be there when the servers roll over on the 22. As more information comes to me I will pass it along to everyone.

There are a couple of friends of mine that will be playing as well and was wondering if I could grab them up in guild (legion) once we get everything sorted out.

'Left-click to rotate camera' is a new feature that they just added in 1.5 due to suggestions from the west. Unfortunately they didn't implement it right and choosing that option disables mouse look when holding down both buttons to move.

But you can disable it in the options, simply uncheck left-click to rotate camera and you'll be able to mouse turn again and instead of left click rotate, its mouse3 (wheel click) to rotate, you'll get used to it fast its an ok substitute until they fix left click.

Other then minor game guard annoyances, which they said is their top priority now that they fixed the lag for the most part, I'm really enjoying the game and I plan to play when it releases.

I'm thinking that we'll be short on healers, so I'll play a cleric at launch and roll an assassin or gladiator for an alt.



I don't see why not, we probably wont be a large guild anyway, unless there's a lot of interest from old members and someone is willing to lead; we'll probably stay a level 2 guild and just merge with a level 3 or 4 guild later on. But that's something we'll need to decide after we're in game and are able to get a good look at where we stand.

zikel serv works for me, but it is a pacific time server, dotn know if people caught that, i know charles did.

I'll be up for some action on Aion. Already playing with some of you all in the open beta guild. I'll be a Chanter. I prefer healing classes in MMOs, but I like to solo as well. This seems like it'll be the class for me. I hope my heals don't suck that much in a group compared to a Cleric...maybe Stekkin knows.

Anyway, my name will be either Mza or Magnum....it'll start with an M, lol. Let me know if we're sticking with the Zikel server dispite the time zone. Now that I'm done with grad school, my schedule should be more flexible for a while.

Chanters heals are ok, they aren't meant to be main healers but in an ideal group you'll have 2 healers anyway, 1 chanter and 1 cleric. Groups will want chanters because their buffs are really really awesome. They can also add additional dps when extra healing isn't needed. A chanter could possibly solo heal if you have a really good group, but a cleric will have a slightly easier time solo healing. Sort of like a gladiator tanking, gladiators work well as off-tanks but they aren't meant to be main tanks and they'll have a harder time solo tanking.

We're more than likely going to be switching to an east coast server after beta.

Azphel and Ariel will be high population servers at launch, Azphel is the Empyrean Lord that leads the Azmodians, Ariel leads the Elyos.

Kaisinel and Lumiel will probably be medium population at launch and Marchutan and Yustiel will probably be lower population at launch. depending on how popular the game is, all the launch servers will eventually be high population.

I'm thinking that we should avoid Ariel and Azphel and choose one of the other 4.

i vote LUMIEL, because that is the easiest to say, haha

Still had the game client installed on my computer, so I decided to give it one more go tonight...seems like that 1.5 patch took care of a lot of the major grievances that I had with the game the first time around...I may consider buying this game after all. If I do, you can definitely count me in for forming back up with the guild/legion/whatever.

I'm down with lumiel, i was thinking that or azphel, but your right that will be high pop because of the lore. I was actually trying to talk my friends out of it, and then i went and brought it up as an option. Lumiel sounds good to me tho.

As a side note I just did some more digging and looks like Lumiel might be an RP server based on the input and overall player input on how they want the server to turn out. So that might be something we need to consider as well. Granted it wouldn't be full RP like WoW, but still might be something that some don't like.

Well with Aion they have stated that there will be NO full RP servers, but there are going to be communities out there are going to want to RP. They can create their own channels and kinda co-habitate with those that aren't going to be RPing. It's just something to keep in mind that if RPer's want to be on that server it might very well turn into a high pop server on launch as well. I just wanna make sure we have all the information we can out there and to discuss before we make a choice. I believe in being well informed about the choices you make and weighing those options out to come up with the best end result.

And the Asmodian Lord,
Marchutan, Lord of Fate

Whichever one of those is the easiest for Woden to pronounce.

if we're going off of a server name wayne has to pronounce... we might all end up in a Dora the Explorer MMO.
