Loot Rules
The central theme of our loot policy is DKP spent equals DKP earned.
In order to recieve DKP, you MUST be registered here and have you characters associated with your unique login. Remember you can have a many characters associated with you login.
Earning DKP
All loot has a set DKP price, which can be found here.
These prices do not vary under any circumstances. We do not have upgrade/downgrade/alts paying different prices. A price change will only occur if officers determine that a price is too high or too low. Such changes will be posted.
When an item is purchased, the cost of that item is divided amongst all members of the raid (including the person who received the item). So for example, if an item worth 50 DKP drops and there are 25 members in the raid each member will receive 50/25 = 2 DKP for that item.
DKP is awarded only for loot that drops. People who are waiting to get into the instance, people who showed up for the raid but did not get a spot, and people in the raid but not with the raid (i.e. if you are in Orgrimmar) do not receive DKP. If one night we are working on learning a boss and do not drop it, no DKP is awarded.
Note that it is still worth your while to show up to learn bosses, as it increases your chances of being invited again. We do not like having to learn the encounter repeatedly for new people. Showing up only after a boss is farmed does not go unnoticed.
Loot Distribution and Spending DKP
We use a mod called guild raid snap shot for the purposes of DKP tracking. When the bidding for an item you want starts you will send a tell to the master looter containing the following; !bid 1
What this does is put all the bidders bidding 1 dkp on the master looters mod and order them by the players total DKP. After the master looter is sure there will be no more bids coming in, the bidding will stop and the winner of the item declared.
If you are on your first raid with Deathreavers then you do not actualy have any DKP and although your bid on any item is welcome you'll be placed on the bottom of the priority list behind anyone with any amount of DKP and thus cannot obtain an item unless there are no other bidders.
Note: We do NOT restrict what classes can get certain items. If a player can equip the item (or appropriately use the quest item), they may bid on it with no exceptions. This means hunters if a hunter wants Ashkandi, if a druid wants cloth, if a shaman wants spinal reaper, etc. they will receive that item if they have the highest DKP, no matter who they are bidding against. This is all part of the "DKP spent equals DKP earned" idea. If a person puts in enough time to earn DKP, that person can use said DKP as they wish.
We do, however, expect respect amongst guild members. Communication is KEY. If there is an item you very much want, communicate with the people you think might take it from you BEFOREHAND. Explain why it is important to you. There is no guaranteeing they will pass the item to you, but you're better off asking than making a hissy fit afterwards because something you didn't expect happened.
Off Spec Rolls and Loot Council
We loot council 2 kinds of items.
1, players designated as MT or OT have priority on ANY upgrade needed for tanking.(CURRENYLY SUSPENDED)
2, Items passed on by main spec players and are being sent to the DE chpping block will be available for players in a off role. These items will be a discounted DKP charge. For example; A set of cloth spell damage bracers drop. No mages, warlocks and shadow priests bid on the item. After the bidding is ended the master looter will tell off role players to roll(i.e. Resto and enh shaman, resto and feral druids and holy priests). The roll serves 2 purposes. The first is to tell us who wants the item for an off role, the outcome of the roll means nothing if we feel the item better suited for one of the players rolling on it. The second purpose of the roll is if its decided that it doesn't matter to whom the item goes to then it will go to the highest roll.
The reason for these rule exceptions is to better benefit the guild progression. Off role rolls are a privalege and not a right and if someone is deemed to be "loot whoring" then the ability to roll on off role items will be taken away entirely. These are not "FREE" shinies, these are items meant to benefit classes that can fill certain roles as deemed necessary by the guilds leadership.
Alts and Loot
Raid invites go out at the discretion of the four role leaders. The amount of people in the raid from each class is approved by the raid leader.
If an alt wants to attend a raid, they must be approved of by the role leader of the alt's class, not by the main's role leader.
If you want to take an alt on a raid, two things must happen:
(For clarity, we'll use the example that you play a shaman and have a hunter alt.)
1. your main's role leader approves.
If your going on an alt is going to mean there aren't enough shaman in the raid, your role leader may request that you stay on your shaman.
2. the alt's role leader approves.
The ranged dps role leader must approve. If he has too many people who's mains are hunters who need items and want to go, he may decline you.
This is where alt loot comes in. The alt class leader may ask you which items you are specifically looking for, and what you intend on taking. He will almost certainly approve if you say you're only going to take items that would otherwise be disenchanted. Using the hunter example, if you say you want the Ancient Petrified Leaf, the class leader may respond that he has another hunter (who is a main) who has been waiting a very long time for the leaf, and that it would benefit the guild most if that main got the Leaf. At this point you may be understanding and agree to pass the item. If this is not something you want to do, the alt class leader may be disinclined to let you come on the raid.
Bear in mind, that as with mains, your behavior on your alt will be noticed. If you are obnoxious or take multiple items you had not indicated interest in, your alt's class leader will certainly take note, and you may hurt your chances of raiding on that alt again. Your main's class leader may also take note of this and look disfavorably on it.
DKP is awarded per player, not per toon. This again comes back to "DKP spent equals DKP earned". If the player has put time into an instance to earn DKP, they can buy items for whichever character they choose. Usually people fully or almost fully gear a main before considering the alt. If you choose not to, your class leader will probably wonder why you're attending on your supposed main at all if you are not getting items that will help you and the guild as we progress. Be aware that as you spend DKP on your alt, you are lowering your main's place in the DKP standings as well.
All this being said, you should know what you want going into a raid, so that you may communicate this to the class leader. Going into an instance with the attitude you will take whatever you see that appeals at the time is not wise for an alt or main if you want to optimize what you get out of your DKP. For an alt, it will be required that you have a specific list of items that you want, of which you inform your alt class leader.
So the bottom line is: there is no restriction on what items an alt can take. If a person plans on taking a ton of items that mains still need from an instance, the alt class leader can prevent this by not inviting that person.
Again, we expect respect and intelligence here. If a very rare item drops (like Spinal Reaper, Shard of Scale, Sulfuras) that you and the class leader hadn't even discussed because it's so rare, please consider those on mains. While it may be awesome for your alt to have the item, the rarity of it probably means there are many mains who need it and would put it to use in the instances we are learning, at which point you would be on your main, while your alt sits back at home. We encourage members to think of the group as a whole, but will not restrict an individual's freedom. In terms of alt raiding and loot, don't consider what your alt is earning, but what you are taking away from a main, who will probably use the item more, and in a context that will help progression as a whole more.
